Chapter 4, Page 40 –

Now be careful. Let me sound a note of warning to you. Frequently we bring glory to God by following the laws of healthful living and reaping a healthy, long life as a result. But sometimes we bring glory to God by not being healed. Just as in our spiritual life, sometimes in our physical life we are asked to go through trials by His power and not be healed. As God told Paul concerning his own physical issues, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9). In other words, God says to Paul, “I can be more honored by your enduring this physical problem than by My taking it away.”

Tradition says that Elisha the prophet died of a slow, malignant disease even though he had asked for, and received, a double portion of the Spirit of Elijah. Which took more of God’s Spirit, do you think, to be carried off in a fiery chariot or to die a slow death from a malignant disease?

The point is – if you place God in control of your life because you love and trust Him, you must be prepared to follow His agenda. He will probably ask you to witness for Him by observing the health laws that you know and reaping the physical benefits. But He might ask you to witness for Him and bring glory to Him in some way other than through a miraculous healing. Your part is to submit (accept, abide, and be empowered). His part is to will and to do. (I warned you at the beginning of this discussion that it would get intense.)
